VELFAC Aluminium door - Escape door (type 5)
Door functionality
This is a typical escape door which can be locked from the inside and or the outside.
The panic push bar is positioned on the inside, and when the bar is pressed the latch & the deadlock will be released.
From outside, the emergency escape handle will only operate the latch and to release the deadlock the cylinder must be disengaged via the key. Note, the cylinder must be fully released to enable operation of the handle and latch.
To secure this door overnight, it must be locked manually by operating the cylinder.

- The aluminium escape door is designed for installation where emergency or panic escape is necessary.
- Typical situations include emergency/panic exits from commercial, public or large residential buildings.
- The door is made of thermally broken aluminium profiles and can be divided by one or more glazing bars, with the resulting apertures glazed or panelled in aluminium.
- The door can be installed as either single or double leafed and outward opening.
- Available with 24mm double or 48mm triple glazing.
- The door can be coupled with VELFAC windows to create glazed entrance screens for receptions or atria.
